A Group dubbed “Concern Nima Youth and Opinion Leaders” vowed to uproot out all kinds of criminals and violence extremists in the area.
The well attended forum which attracted a lot of youth and some elders, was particular on the solution to help prevent any kind of old type of violence and nefarious activities in Nima which tried to resurface in the neighbourhood through two young guys called Kumodzi and Bombor.
The forum has stated that Nima has gained some respected level of good name for years now andit’s high time they maintain this name by stopping at once anybody who would like to drag this good name in the mud.
At the forum organized by the group on Tuesday held at the Nima Social centre/CDR in Accra, the leader of the group, Awalu Angulu appealed to the various youth leaders from different communities to mass up against any person engage in nefarious activities within their neighborhood.
Some chiefs and Imams who took turns to address the forum also spoke against the increasing number of ghettos and bases as a basis for various crimes in Nima and its environs.
For them, some of these ghettos and bases breed criminals who engage in all kinds of social vices.
They called for the immediate re-introduction of “Neighbourhood Watch Dog” to help the police clear the Municipality of all the criminals cum their activities.
The Nima Divisional Police Commander, ACP Abraham Akwei with the support of the District Commander, DSP Paul Bampoe pledged their support to ensure maximum security in the Municipality.
ACP Akwei reiterated the need for the reintroduction of the community watch dog to beef up policing in the Nima Community and its environs.
Other members of the group are Panyin; Awudu Zingo; Smaila Horoya Ali amongst others ensured the well attended forum was successful.
