The year of road declared by President Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo is another scam, shambolic and thievery way of looting public fund.

Nana Akufo-Addo and his cousins, Minister of Road and Highways, Amoako Atta and the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta must be questioned why the Eastern region road is still not receiving any further progressing after the massive grading of the surface from Somanya through Adukrom to Koforidua for almost two years now which budget has already been allocated to.
If the President could not fulfil a promise made to people of his home region, how much more can he transcend a promise to other regions? Under this government, the office of the President appear to be a resting home for thieves and looters, meanwhile majority of the citizens are suffering.

Nana Addo’s lies and scamming attitude has self-pollinated in his party. President Akufo-Addo declared the year 2020, as the “Year of Roads”. The President promised that the government would embark on an aggressive road development across Ghana.

Mr. Ofori Atta, Minister of Finance And Economic Planning in his 2020 Mid-Year Review and Supplementary budget to Parliament re-echoed “The Year of Roads,” mantra stressing that despite the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, substantial progress had been made in the road sector.

He listed major road infrastructure undertaken by government but could not speak about the reconstruction of the Eastern road project from Somanya through Adukrom to Koforidua. Eastern region deserves better!
Drivers tumbled through the potholes, muddy waters and sketched road as if the football legendary Diago Maradona of Argentina on the football field or risk breaking parts of his vehicles. Now drivers on the Eastern region from Koforidual to Somanya on that decorated road sharpen their skills in single movement or series of moves to avoid the potholes or run into it at a slow pace as they dared not speed.

The state of Eastern region road from Somanya to Koforidua is very dangerous that needs an urgent attention from the government.
