La Dade-Kotopon Municipal National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) 2021 quiz Trophy has been lefted joyfully by one of the contested schools in the Municipality.

During their quest to climax the week long celebration of “International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR)” in Accra, the La Dade-Kotopon Municipal NADMO organised quiz competition for some schools in the area.

At the final stage of the La NADMO quiz amongst eight (8) schools, Garrison’s accumulated points of 36 catapulted the school to left the gold pleted trophy, followed by Army Forces school at 2nd position with 30 points after striving to break the tide amongst four other schools with same points.

La Wireless ‘4’ School came 3rd; Signals, from Burma Camp, 4th; Rangoon 5th; Services, 6th; African Unity school, 7th position and St. Maurice, 8th position respectively.
The students in the first three top positions (who participated in this La NADMO quiz were decorated with gold plated medals and certificates, whilst others received only participatory certificates each.

La Dade-Kotopon NADMO scintilating quiz became very tough at the later part amongst four schools who dazzled well to accumulate same points, 30 each. The tide which had to be broken amongst them, the students were subjected to two additional rounds until 3rd, 4th,5th and 6th positions were obtained.

In an interaction with the media on the sidelined of the quiz, the elated hard working Acting La NADMO Director, Mrs. Deborah Ofori praised the schools and prayed the authorities would heed to the advice to form Disaster Management Groups/Clubs to help equip the students with knowledge on the causes and prevention of disaster.
She was of the view that when they grow with the knowledge they imbibed in about disaster and its mitigating factors, it will help reduce disaster risks in their vicinity and beyond in the near future.
Mrs. Ofori was quick to urge the students to also inform their parents of dangers of disasters at their homes and to further remind their teachers of Disaster Management Clubs in their schools.
