The La Dade-Kotopon branch of the National Disaster Management Organisation, NADMO has embarked on a clean up exercise in the Municipality.
The exercise which took place around La Community Bank and its environs, was to usher in the “International Day For Disaster Risk Reduction”; it was led by the Municipal Deputy Operations’ Director, Joshua Azu and all the Zonal Directors and their subordinate disaster officers.
The clean up exercise forms part of the week long celebration of the “International Day For Disaster Risk Reduction”, which started on Saturday, October 9, 2021, on the theme; “Disaster Reduction, A Shared Responsibility”.
As part of its planned activities, La NADMO organised a preceding event on education on fire for the market women at the forecourt of La Market Complex.
Other lined up activities that are expected to come off, include float within the municipality on Monday, October 11, 2021 to create disaster awareness, followed by quiz among some selected schools on interesting disaster topics to drum home importance of preventing disaster before it’s too late control.
