The President of Diaspora Progressive Movement (DPM) in USA, Dr. Lawrence Appiah has opined that President Akufo-Addo and his ministers are insensitive to the plight of poor Ghanaians.
The worried Ghanaian citizen based in USA, Dr. Appiah could not fathom to understand why President Akufo-Addo should hired a private jet at $17, 000 an hour for 23 hours for just a foreign trip when Ghanaians are complaining bitterly of hardship the NPP government kept imposing in less than 5 years in power.
Dr. Lawrence Appiah indicated that the luxurious jet was carefully selected with a bathroom in it to meet the taste of Nana Akufo-Addo who would like to shower in it during his foreign trips out of which they could get their kickbacks.
The President of DPM, USA chiled Ghana’s Defense Minister, Dominic Nitiwul for telling Ghanaians that the President Akufo-Addo could not shower in the Presidential jet as a cover up amongst others; meanwhile, it was argued that President Akufo-Addo needed such luxurious jet.
He stated that every activity and programmes of the Nana Addo/Bawumia led NPP administration are geared towards looting the State deliberately to enrich themselves at the expense of the poor taxpayers and struggling Ghanaians.
According to him in another cover up move, when the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta was called to account for the President’s foreign trips involving that huge amount of dollars, he (Finance) deferred the answer to the Minister of National Security, Kan Dapaah.
Dr. Lawrence Appiah added that Akufo-Addo’s Health Minister, Kweku Agyeman Menu also claimed has secured 1.5 million dosses of COVID-19 vaccine and argued that it was a better deal for the poor tax payers, when everything shows it was another planned strategy by the NPP government through him (Minister) to rather milk the country dry.
To this, Dr. Appiah argued that, “Agyeman Menu thinks the President spending $17,000 an hour for 23 hours and getting 1.5 million dosses of COVID-19 vaccine were better use of the tax payers money; and such individuals are still ministers of state”.
In view of this, he questioned that when the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, President Akufo-Addo’s cousin told Ghanaians that they have the men to deliver Ghanaians from their sufferings; doesn’t he know the amount involved in hiring jets for the President’s foreign trips?
