The President and the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Ghana Association of Writers (GAW) wish to announce the holding of this year’s GAW Book Festival dubbed “GAWBOFEST 2021” as follows:
Date : MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 – TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2021.

Day 1 : Monday, September 20, 2021 – Opening Ceremony; Panel Discussions on “Creating the/a conducive ecosystem for creative writing in Ghana” and “Publishing perspectives in a disrupted World: Self or independent publishing vs. traditional publishing.”

DAY 2 : Tuesday, September 21, 2021 – “GAW Young Writers Forum,” Panel Discussion on “E-book dynamics and Apps in Ghana,” “Book Readings by GAW award winning authors” and “Closing Ceremony.”

The GAW Book Festival brings together various stakeholders in the book industry on September 21 (Founders’ Day) of every year since 2011, except in 2018, under the theme “Empowering Ghana through Reading.”

Over the years, GAWBOFEST has welcomed renowned writers, diplomats, members of parliament, personalities in the arts and the creative industry, school pupils, students, et cetera; and featured activities such as book readings, poetry recitals, storytelling, book signings, quizzes, cultural performances, brass band music, face painting, instant portrait drawing and graphic designs.

Being a holiday, the day affords parents, pupils, students, and holiday makers the opportunity to attend.
