Former President John Dramani Mahama has called for Justice for those innocent electorates who were killed during elections 2020 at Techiman South in the Bono East Region when they insisted the Electoral Commission, EC count the ballots and put out the right figures of each parliamentary candidate.
This harmless call did not go down well with the NPP government officials who wanted the counting done clandestinely so they called armed soldiers and police officers who shot and killed about 8 innocent electorates including children who were not carrying even a stone.
President Akufo-Addo who benefited from the death of these 8 people ‘sworn heaven’ not to comment on the killing or direct for investigation into the irresponsible killings of these people in the Bono East Region.
To this effect, former President John Dramani Mahama promised the people of Bono East Region that the people of Ghana should be well assured that the various killings that happened during that elections would be investigated and the perpetrators punished.
“Crime, has no expiry date”, he said. The level of insecurity in the nation could all be accounted to the level of impunity in the country at the time.
He sighted some cases of violence from the killing of a young graduate during the Voter’s ID card registration period , killings during the elections and collation and recently the Ejura riots .
Even if the president keeps a blind eye on all these, the NDC will make sure the families involved are properly compensated.
This was an emotional appeal by His Excellency John D. Mahama to the good people of Techiman South on the Bonokyempem Hall shooting that took the life of Abdullah Ayarik and Taajudeen Alhassan.
