A Businessman and philanthropist, ADJEI Mensah aka Escojay has appealed to the government to convert Amasaman park into an astro-turf field for the youth in the area.
Mr. Mensah who is lacing his boot to contest the next assembly elections in the Amasaman Electoral Area, has been organising yearly football gala to mark every Homowo celebration in the area.
Speaking to newsmen during the opening of this year’s Homowo Football Gala in the area, the businessman and a philanthropist indicated that football bridges unity amongst the people, especially the youth so it would be good if the government could construct astro-turf park for the youth.
He believes with this type of football field talents of many young people could be unearth and will be beneficial to family, soceity and the country at large.
Mr. Mensah hinted that he got the greenlight two years ago from the Amasaman chief, Nii Amasa Oseeku to organise the yearly Homowo football gala for the youth.
He said the game improves every year as it gets interesting because of the enthusiasm the gala comes with.
“I am very happy to see young people exhibiting their football talents, and the support from the people of Amasaman constituency for showing up in their numbers to watch the game”, he said.
“…..this shows how football brings the people togather, so they need a good football pitch so they would not hurt themselves but to rather unearth talents for the area”, Mr. Mensah explained.
“I also organised this football gala within the constituency just to bring the youth together as one people. The fact that we are different tribes coming from different communities doesn’t make us different people. We must show love to one another and we will be like a family”, he appealed.
The aspiring Assemblyman at Amasaman Electoral Area, reiterated that, “we will be grateful if this park is converted to astro-turf for the constituency. it’s always a challenge for us to enjoy the national cake as a constituency, but I hope this time around something good will come to Amasaman constituency.
