During the 2016 campaign , I made time to be in the Western North on 3 different occasions, campaigned in Bia west on 2 occasions !!!
That was when I met the Affable Hon Augustine Tawiah. He always had a story to share everytime we met , and the moment you tell him its time to set off, that is when he will come out with another story signifying that , you should stay a little longer .
Hon Tawia was one of the unsung heroes of the 7th January unprecedented election of the speaker of parliament. Unfortunately, he has not been the same anymore due to what the deadly covid 19 virus can do .
Since the elections of the speaker , the spirit of the NDC members have been high and the expectations of many have been on cloud 9 , until we were all hit by a blow on the 3rd of March.
The anger was high , the emotions couldn’t be controlled, even to the point that we forgot we had one man down !!!
Yes, that incident was so disappointing that it had to take our elders of the party to cool down heads and hearts .
Then came the budget reading , high expectations, there were agitations from civil society groups that the budget must not go through, the hardships will be unbearable said the masses !!! A voice call for acceptance of the budget was not accepted, so a secret ballot was needed . I sincerely salute all our MPs present . Leadership quickly organised itself and in no time, the house was ready!!!
All members on our side unanimously voted against the senseless budget. Again, health reasons caused us on the day (apart from the critical family issues of 2 MPs who had asked for permission)
Comrades , in our eagerness to Marshall our numbers , let’s also remember we have a man down that needs our prayers .
Sometimes our emotions may blind us in many ways to see that a brother, a father , a husband needs our prayers too .
I know pastors who have been praying for him and praying for the doctors by his side . The good Lord that we serve have never made a mistake , and this is not the time for him to make a mistake against the NDC.
Hon Tawiah , Covid may not be an ailment that we can come visiting , else your house will be filled with comrades who are with you in spirit and in truth .
Hon , you may sometimes here comments that may not be pleasant, but i know you know how complex politics is , but many are with you in prayers . Your life means so much to us , just as it means to your wife and children .
Comrades , let us keep supporting our members of parliament, and leadership of the party in this critical days . We must rally around them for the victory in 2024 .
Very soon , we will have a good news from Techiman South , and Assikado-Ketan following the court’s clearance of obstacles before us .
Comrades , you have worked so hard to bring the NDC this far. Let’s make sure we see the fruits of our toil in the coming days !!!

Good people of Bia West and the Western North, we are with you in this difficult times. Very soon, Hon Tawiah will be back to his feet again , that is when we will celebrate again.
