The Gov’t of Nana Addo was Overhyped

Sometimes I agree with some Ghanaians when they say God brought the government of Nana Addo just so Ghanaians will appreciate the government of John Mahama.

If John Mahama had won the 2016 elections, I couldn’t have imagined how the political temperature would have been by now. The NPP would still be disturbing our ears with their overhyped candidate of Nana Addo.

Dr. Lawrence Appiah, Founder of the Diaspora Progressive Movement in USA.

In 2016, the NPP told us Nana Addo was not corrupt and cannot be corrupted. They told us Nana Addo was too old to steal Ghana’s money. Today, we know those statements about Nana Addo were overhyped.

Nana Addo is the most corrupt President since 1957. If persons like Ken Ofori Atta, Gabby Otchere-Darko, Asante Bediatuo, Philip Ayensu, Bomti ( the President’s brother), Kofi Osafo-Marfo, Yaw Osafo-Marfo are involved in the mother of all corruption – PDS and Agyapa Royalties – but you think Nana Addo’s head, hands and legs are not deep inside those criminal activities, then you have a very little mind.

In 2016, Dr. Bawumiah told us a government of Nana Addo will not borrow to fix the country because Ghana has the money. At that time, JM had borrowed GHC40B. Today, the government of Nana Addo has borrowed GHC 140B and still counting.

In 2016, Dr. Bawumiah told us Nana Addo will not operate a family and friends government. At that time, JM had only one member of his family in his government. Today, Nana Addo has over twenty members of his family in his government.

In 2016, Nana Addo told Ghanaians that no one will make profit in his government. Today, we know how Pius Hazdide profited from an Australian Visa fraud. The list is long which includes Charles Bissiw and many more.

In 2016, when the cedi was GHC 3.8 to the dollar, both Nana Addo and Dr. Bawumiah said the exchange rate was high because of bad leadership. Today, the exchange rate is GHC 6.1 to the dollar, but Dr. Bawumiah is telling us to believe that it is because of good leadership.

In 2016, both Nana Addo and Dr. Bawumiah gave Ghanaians overhyped promises that forced dwarfs to come and vote. Those promises included building 350 new Schools, transform Ghana in 18 months, 1D1F, 1D1V, $1M per constituency every year, Accra to be the cleanest city in Africa. The list is very long.

Nana Addo in 2016, accused John Mahama of running a very large sized government. At that time, JM had 84 Ministers. Today, Nana Addo has 125 Ministers and he doesn’t see anything wrong with that, even though most of the Ministers have nothing doing.

In 2016, Nana Addo promised the youth sustained Jobs, Jobs and Jobs. Today, he has come to collapse all the banks, businesses and galamsey that gave the youth, at least some level of income, hope and a future.

They are on the ground trying to convince you to vote for them again. If they lied and overhyped their potentials to you, just kick them out. You took a wrong decision in 2016, that gave us a wrong President. Correct your decision on December 7. Aba no, Mahama afa.

Dr. Lawrence is the Founder of the Diaspora Progressive Movement in USA.
