The President and founder of Ghana think tank, IMANI Ghana Franklin Cudjoe has aired his view on the on-going new voters’ register brouhaha.
The National Democratic Congress, NDC have complained a lot about the voters register, expecially having noticed the disappearance of other Ghanaian names in the EC’s new register
According to Franklin Cudjoe, the multiple registration are the fault of the biometric machines touted by the Electoral Commission, EC to be better than the old ones.
“In actual fact, the so-called multiple registrations are clearly the fault of the ‘super biometric machines’ touted as better than the efficiently true ones that served us without much headaches, yet procured through murky means, and now acting its untested function in generating multiple identities at will” he said.
Franklin Cudjoe also added that the shady work the Electoral Commission, EC does not deserve the Ghc150m used for the entire process, he described the activities as incompetent, emphasizing that even incompetence is understate and cannot stop lying.
Franklin Cudjoe then descended heavily on John Boadu, the General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP after he suggested, that if unresolved, the self-imposed mess can only be undone by allowing anyone with an EC- generated card to vote on D-day.”
This, Franklin Cudjoe replied;
“No! Mr. Boadu, that would be aiding and abetting contraband voting and an escape route for those who managed to snatch $150m from us by performing vanishing acts. Thankfully, someone like me and folks in civil society are no pliant tools in the acts of the illusionist. Magic has its limits and some Judges will soon learn this”, he schools John Boadu.
