The Oblieman-Opa Mantse in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Ayitrey Anumle Oyanka I has appealed to Politicians and Ghanaian Youth to ensure this year’s elections are peaceful.
According to him, elections should not be seen as do or die affair since both political parties are calling for the betterment of the country in different ideologies.
Nii Ayittey Anumle I made this appeal in an interview with National Tymes at his palace on Saturday when he was marking the annual Homowo festival in his jurisdiction in Accra.
Though, Nii Oyanka Anumle I expressed worried at the level of deceptive politics in the country, however, he urged the youth not to allow themselves to be used by any selfish person to forment trouble during elections.
He noted that politicians engaged youth during elections to create troubles or attacks political opponents for little reward; and this year’s elections could be worse following what we saw during the just ended registration exercise, Oblieman-Opa Mantse noted.
“It is high time we keep these deceptive politicians to where they belong, we can’t allow ourselves to be deceived and used during elections to create problems to our fellow country men and women”, Nii fumed.
Adding, Nii stated that “we are tired of unnecessary promises; all we need is to see our lives changed for better and, for the country move forward”.
