There is growing tension within the Greater Accra Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the Regional Chairman, Emmanuel Nii Ashie-Moore and the Regional Secretary, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, are at odds over an alleged unauthorized publication.

The disagreement stems from a report released by the Regional Secretary, which Chairman Ashie-Moore claims was released without prior approval from the vetting committee.
Sources closed to Nationaltymes.com hinted that, according to the Regional Chairman, the committee had successfully vetted aspirants from 17 out of 29 assemblies, shortlisting 51 candidates. These shortlisted names were placed under police custody at the Regional Command for safekeeping before being forwarded to the presidency for final vetting and approval.

However, Chairman Ashie-Moore alleges that Hon. Tetteh Chaie not only released the list of the 51 vetted aspirants into the public domain, but also included an additional 36 names – three from each of the remaining 12 assemblies that were yet to undergo vetting. This, he argues, falsely suggests that the committee had completed its work and could create unnecessary tension within the region.

In response, the Regional Chairman has issued a statement nullifying the release into the public domain, stressing that the official vetting process is still ongoing and urging party members to disregard the unauthorized report.
This internal rift raises concerns about unity within the Greater Accra NDC.
