THE MINISTRY for Youth Development and Empowerment has unveiled an ambitious plan to set up job centers in every district nationwide, aiming to create more employment opportunities for young people.
Speaking during a working visit to the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Minister George Opare Addo reaffirmed his commitment to decentralizing job placement services. He emphasized that these centers will provide career guidance, training and direct employment links in both the public and private sectors.

“The assurance I am going to give is that President Mahama is going to work hard to reposition the YEA as a place where young people can seek refuge anytime they are looking for job opportunities and training,” Opare Addo told the media.
He further assured the youth that this initiative aligns with the government’s broader policy agenda. “We have a similar policy in our manifesto and we are going to scale it up so that every district has a job center. These centers should be closer to the job seekers to make opportunities easily accessible to them.”

This initiative is expected to bridge the employment gap and empower young people with the necessary skills and resources to secure sustainable jobs.
