Ghana Parliament Begins Registration for 9th Parliament Members

The Parliamentary Service of Ghana has announced the commencement of registration for members elected to the 9th Parliament of the 4th Republic.

H. E. PRESIDENT-ELECT,  JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA.

The registration begins online on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, with physical registration scheduled from Thursday, January 2, 2025, to Monday, January 6, 2025.

According to the statement, targeted invitations will be sent to members-elect through WhatsApp and emails, while any queries can be directed to the registration team via 055 022 2200 or 050 363 4466.

HER EXCELLENCY VICE-PRESIDENT ELECT, PROF. NAANA JANE OPPOKU-AGYEMANG.

Key events marking the inauguration of the 9th Parliament include:

1. Election of the Speaker and Swearing-in of Members-elect

Date: Monday, January 6, 2025

Time: Members to be seated by 9 PM, with the election scheduled for 11 PM and the swearing-in at midnight.

2. Swearing-in of the President-elect and Vice President-elect

Date: Tuesday, January 7, 2025

Time: Ceremony begins at 10 AM at Independence Square.

Transportation: Members will be conveyed by bus from Parliament to the venue at 8 AM and are urged to be punctual.

EMPTY PARLIAMENT READY FOR THE 9TH PARLIAMENT.

Parliament has called on all members-elect to take note of the dates and adhere to the schedules to ensure a smooth transition and inauguration process.
