LARGEST OPPOSITION National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared that its has won majority seats in parliament with a total of 185 seats across the country.

Addressing the media in Accra, the party General Secretary, Mr. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey indicated that it’s the first time since inception of the fourth republic for a political party to have secured such a huge number of parliamentary seats in a competitive election.
He however, expressed optimism of winning additional seats in constituencies where results are yet to be declared by the Electoral Commission (EC).

“We still have a few that are not completely confirmed, but our count shows that, as of now, we are talking about at least 185 parliamentary seats for the NDC. We will see what happens with the remaining ones that are still in the toss-up category,” he added.
The NDC General Secretary also hinted that party supporters have been instructed not to interfere with the collation of results in areas yet to be declared.

“…we will ensure cooperation with the EC and that our agents perform their duties diligently. Clear instructions have been sent to our supporters to allow the processes to proceed without violence or intimidation. The evidence of the results lies in the pink sheets. We have told our supporters to work hard and remain vigilant. Once we secure our pink sheets, there is nothing anyone can do,” he assured.
