DEPUTY GENERAL Secretary of the opposition NDC in charge of operations, Mustapha Gbandi has cautioned the Electoral Commission (EC) led by Mrs Jean Adukwei Mensah to be careful rigidity affect Ghana’s peaceful democracy.

Mr. Gbandi warns that, “If Jean Mensah and Bossman Asare exposed women, children and Ghanaians of the risk of being killed in a chaotic elections, we’ll also expose their families to that risk they’re putting all us in”.
President Akufo-Addo alleged to have made the current team at the Electoral Commission (EC) a set of NPP members and sympathisers who are ready and willing to subvert the will of Ghanaians only to break the 8s.
This move was noted during the just ended voter exhibition where about 3,957 names of voters were deleted from the 2024 voter register; 15,000 transfered without any traces of origin, and about 243,000 transfered in 2020 has been added again in 2024 as double entry.

2,094 on transfered list in 2024 have no details of voters in the Absent list in their respective polling station amongst others in the country.
Mr. Gbandi alleged it a deliberate plan by EC and NPP to rig elections 2024; this was why the EC is objecting the call to carry on with the forensic audit of the voter’s roll.

According to him, Ghanaians must not die because of election; “the NDC cannot afford to lose a life in this 2024 elections; it must be one man, one vote”. “….for that matter the EC must do the right thing by accepting to carry on with the forensic audit of the voter register”, Mr. Gbandi charged.
In an interview with Nationaltymes.com during the massive protest in Accra on September 17, 2024, he advised the Electoral Commission (EC) led by Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensah to allow the forensic audit of the voter register to come on.

He believes this could produce free, fair and credible elections. He added that if the EC remains rigid, so that the election could be rigged, to put Ghanaians in danger; the NDC would also put her and her family in danger.
“If Jean Mensah and Bossman Asare’s expose women, children and Ghanaians of the risk of being killed in a chaotic elections, we’ll also expose their families to that risk they’re putting all us in”, Mr. Gbandi assures.
