The Hon Member of Parliament, MP for the people of La Dade-Kotopon Constituency in Accra, Madam Rita Naa Odoley Sowah has fumed over the current state of the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre, (GITFC) in the area.

The Ghana International Trade Fair Centre, (GITFC) was under use by some companies/institutions and individuals who had a reasonable number of employees, and also maintaining the place.
The governing NPP led Nana Akufo-Addo gave GITFC out to an investor who also demolished the place over two years now without any immediate plans to reconstruct the centre, which ends up creating more unemployment in La Dade-Kotopon and its environs.

One of the companies, Universal Label and Packaging Ltd, belonging to one Raymond Archer, a journalist was demolished one Sunday midnight after he installed new printing machines running into millions of USDollars. No amount of plea was accepted for him to pack out his newly installed machines.
Speeking during an interview on Unique fm, an evening show dubbed “Behind The News” last Wednesday in Accra, Hon Naa Odoley Sowah opined that following the manner the demolishing was done and the state of the place, it has become an eyesore and a nuisance for the people of La.
She was of the view that if the government or the investor really meant to redevelop the place it should start by now with all the needed seriousness because it would create a number of employment opportunities for the people in La and its surrounding areas.

Addressing the issues of how some government officials and their cronies are scrambling over the La lands at certain prime areas, Hon Rita Naa Odoley Sowah indicated that she would have to get more information from La chiefs before she could make any informed presentation.
According to her, the presentation would include why the demolishing of Ghana International Trade Fair Centre, GITFC. She hinted that there is a committee involving both the La indigenes and some government officials, and she would want to wait for the outcome.

La Dade-Kotopon Constituency MP, Hon Rita Naa Odoley Sowah further indicated that with the necessary information on aforementioned matters, she would make a presentation in parliament when need be.
