The Assembly Members of the Ayawaso East Municipality in the Greater Accra Region have retained their Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Officer, Hajia Selma Adams Sani-Kuta for the area.
Out of 18, 17 Assembly members unanimously confirmed Hajia Selma Sani-Kuta whilst the 18th member of the Assembly, MP for the Ayawaso East Constituency has no voting right as per the constitution.

In her acceptance speech, Hajia Selma Sani-Kuta promised to continue to work with her Assembly members in harmony to transform the Municipality in all sectors to the admiration of everyone.
She thanked the Hon Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey to his guidance and advise during her tenure in office till her renomination. She expressed her gratitude to the Assembly members for seeing the need to retain her.

Hajia Selma Sani-Kuta acknowledged the chiefs and imams who were advising her as well as both the NDC and the ruling NPP in the Municipality for their support in the delivery of her mandate in the area.
Mr. Quartey, Hon Greater Accra Regional Minister who saluted the Assembly members and the political parties, the NDC and NPP who helped to supervise the election, has indictated that the peaceful nature of the process was an indication of maturity.
To this, he urged the two parties to maintain that relationship which led to the peaceful process without confusion. He was quick to inform the gathering that in a constituency like this, families are divided in one political party or the other, so attacking someone could hurt the peaceful coexistence.

He appealed to the religious and Traditional leaders in the area to help ensure that peaceful coexistence are not taken for granted at all in the Municipality.
He further appealed to the Chiefs and the Imams not allow their youth to be used for crime by politicians.

The Hon. Minister and MP for Ayawaso Central, Mr. Quartey charged the MCE, Hajia Selma Sani-Kuta, to involve the Assembly members in all the projects that would be initiated in the Municipality.
