Hon Rita Naa Odoley Sowah commended La Dade-Kotopon National Democratic Congress, NDC Youth for their hard work before, during and after the last general elections.
The youth are also charged not to allow their efforts that brought Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah to parliament be in vein especially now that she is being noticed through her hard work in parliament.
Although her party is in opposition, Hon. Rita Odoley Sowah has secured some jobs for some of the youth in the area. She is currently organising ICT Training for youth who are interested in IT, she advised them to make advantage of good opportunities that come their way.
Hon. Rita Odoley has record on development when she was the Municipal Chief Executive, MCE for La Dade-Kotopon with lots of projects to her credit, has an NGO which supports disabled persons.
In a meeting the youth were remind how 77 years old President Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo messed up Ghana making it very difficult for everyone except himself and his family.
Hon. Member of Parliament, MP for Wa West in the Upper East Region, Edward Bawa, reminded the youth of work NDC was doing in developing this country across all sectors but the Nana Addo led NPP administration has come to mess up everything making citizenry suffering.
He explained that under Nana Addo NDC MPs are struggling for resources – salaries and other funds such that they could start something. Hon. Bawa disclosed that even the districts in the country are yet to receive their first quarter of the common fund This year.
This is because the government has diverted the huge loans contracted into winning of the fraud 2020 elections at expense of already struggling poor Ghanaians.
To this effect, he appealed to the youth to give their Hon MP, Madam Rita Naa Odoley Sowah sometime for her to find her rhythm so she could start something beneficial in the area.
Hon. Bawa stated that unfortunately for the new NDC MPs the John Dramani Mahama led NDC is not un power for them (MPs) to support their people and to bring the needed developments to their constituents.
On her part, Hon. Ada MP who doubles as the Women’s leader and Deputy Chief whip in parliament, Madam Doyo Ghanza, called on the youth to continue with their hard work to help Madam Rita to bring needed transformation to the area.
She also hinted that it is always not easy for the new MPs to be financially sound especially in the case of NDC MPs whose party is in opposition where their salaries come irregularly under this NPP administration.
Hon. Deputy Chief whip also explained that these new MPs struggle to contribute to the running of the opposition NDC due to pressure from all over.
In view of this, she reiterated the appeal to the La NDC youth to calm down for their MP in case they are exerting some kind of pressure on her.
The old MPs with their experience informed Hon Rita Odoley that the pressure will surely come but must maintain her nice composure and to also continue mindfully with the manner she handles her people and make it better time to time.
Other Hon. MPs who joined the Hon. La Dade-Kotopon MP, Madam Rita Naa Odoley Sowah with her youth were the Hon Lawyer Elizabeth Agyare from Techieman and the Ledzokuku MP, Benjamin Ayiku and they all took turns to addressed the youth.
The Greater Accra Regional NDC Youth Organiser, Mustapha Nii Ashong and his two deputies, Amos Bless Amoase and Alhaji Judah who were present also advised the youth and commended them for their hard work during the lady elections.
Greater Accra NDC Youth Organiser, NII Ashong suggested there should be a paradigm shift in the way agents are picked to represent the party candidates during general elections for the sake of loyalty.
