The caretaker District Chief Executive for East Ada, Sarah Dugbakie Pobee is preventing the Ada Police from arresting four NPP guys for assaulting the Ada District Police Commander last Sunday for confronting them over violation of road traffic regulations.
Wisdom and Richard Agorhom, both brothers to the Greater Accra Regional NPP Chairman, Divine Otoo Agorhom, and two ladies believed to be their wives onboard a car stopped in the middle of the road at the Clinic junction, a police, junction stretch of the Ada-Foah road and were conversing with occupants of an oncoming vehicle resulting in double packing which made it impossible for on-coming vehicles from both directions to access the road.
The East Ada District Police Commander, Andreas Mifetu who confirmed the incident but declined to further comment was using same road at the time but could not have access to pass.
He questioned them for blocking passage which violates an aspect of the road traffic regulation. The quadruo flired up and subjected the commander to verbal and physical assault.
It took some Okada guys who witnessed the unfortunate incident to inform personnel at the Ada-Foah barracks who rushed to the scene by which time the culprits had fled.
Checks by Nationaltymes.com reporter reveals that all attempts by the command to arrest the perpetrators to face the law for abusing a law enforcement officer were allegedly thwarted by Madam Pobee who in a telephone call instructed the commander not to arrest the people because they are not criminals.
The acting DCE allegedly went ahead to threaten the owner of a guest house where the guys lodged when they realised that the police were searching for them.
This is one out of many abuses DSP Mifetu is suffering since he assumed post as the Ada District Police Commander two years ago.
On Easter Monday in April, Lord Commey came to the immediate past Greater Accra Regional Council of State Member, Kotei Dzani’s residence in Ada with some hooligans from Nima who assaulted the commander for asking them to stop smoking Cannabis publicly and sharing “Shisha” which violates the COVID-19 protocols.
These rascals went rowdy threatening the commander hitting him at the chest in the full glare of Lord Commey, Sarah Pobee, Kotei Dzani and other departmental heads as they looked unconcerned until some naval personnel arrived at the scene on the call of unknown person who were appalled at the scene.
As if that was not enough, Lord Commey warned the commander against arresting the guys, asking if he knew the power he,(Commey) wields. He eventually allowed the young men to molest the police commander and went scott-free.
