Hon. Member of Parliament (MP) for Yilo Krobo in the Eastern Region, Albert Tetteh Nyakotey has fixed the broken bridge at Obomkorkor, in the upper part of the Yilo Krobo Constituency.
The bridge, which serves as a link between Obomkorkor and Nyuabeng was constructed by the late Raymond Tawiah, former MP for the area but has became weak and broken preventing school children from Obomkorkor from crossing over to access education at Nyuabeng, a community which hosts the only school in the area.
To this effect, the Chiefs and the community leaders of both the communities appealed to the MP to help them fixed the bridge. The MP in the company of the contractor and a representative from the Municipal Works Engineering Department visited the site.
The MP quickly provided granite chippings, iron rods and Cement for work on the bridge to start immediately.
Whilst awaiting parliament to release the MP’s share of his common fund, the Yilo Klo Legislator over the past weeks has been financing some projects like the rehabilitation of school block at Apersua from his pocket.
He also cut a sod for the construction of a KG block for Samlesi-Amanga Community and some water projects dotted around the Constituency.
According to one Isaac Bornyabi Tetteh, a youth activist, all these projects complements the MP’s commitment to Education and improving living standards of the people.
The Chiefs and Elders of both Obomkorkor and Nyuabeng were very grateful to the Hon MP, Mr. Tetteh Nyakotey for coming to their aid.
