GHANA’S Stock Exchange (GSE) is now ranked the second best-performing market in the world and number one in Africa, beating Nigeria and 13 other African markets.
Bloomberg reports the GSE has gained 63.4% in local currency terms and over 66% in dollar terms, trailing only South Korea globally.
In August alone, the GSE delivered a 71.27% return, making it Africa’s best performer. Market capitalisation has now hit GH¢287 billion, with fresh IPOs raising over GH¢2 billion — a clear sign investor confidence has returned under President John Dramani Mahama.
Compare this to 2022 under Akufo-Addo/Bawumia, when Ghana was in economic ‘ICU’ — high inflation, cedi crash, and a $3 billion IMF bailout.
Now the cedi is stabilizing, projects are ongoing without the corruption of the past 8 years, and the world is noticing.
What Ghanaians Endured For 8 Years Under Akufo-Addo/Bawumia:

Ghanaians have not forgotten the scandals that sent the economy to the ICU:
1. The PDS-ECG Scandal: A controversial $510 million power distribution deal that was terminated after alleged fraud and fake guarantees, costing Ghana millions.
2. The Agyapa Royalties Deal: An attempt to mortgage Ghana’s future gold royalties for 15 years through a tax haven deal that civil society and Parliament rejected over transparency concerns.
3. COVID-19 Expenditure Scandal: Millions of cedis meant for the pandemic could not be properly accounted for, with the Auditor-General flagging huge irregularities in spending.
4. Gold-for-Oil And Bulk Oil Storage Mess: Billions spent on the Gold-for-Oil policy and BOST operations without clear accountability, while fuel prices kept rising.

With no message and no corruption scandal to hang on the NDC, the NPP is in panic mode ahead of 2028.
After their fake claim that GoldBod had incurred losses fell flat, the NPP National Organizer, Nana B, Henry Nana Boakye, has now taken over with a new dangerous propaganda — that they have reliable information that narcotics are being manufactured in Ghana under the NDC.
It is a clear strategy to spread fake news and force lies down the throat of Ghanaians to prepare the ground for 2028.
Ghanaians are asking: After 8 years of messing up the country, is this politics of insults and fake news through people like Nana B and Ghana Jollof what the NPP wants to use to snatch power from a performing Mahama government?
Bloomberg has spoken. The economy is working. The lies won’t work.
