THE MEMBER of Parliament for Biakoye Constituency, Jean-Marie Formadi, has donated essential medical equipment to the Worawora Government Hospital to help improve healthcare delivery in the district.
The donation, which has been widely praised by health officials and residents, is expected to enhance the quality of medical services in the Biakoye District and the Oti Region.
The items presented included seven hospital beds, two delivery beds, one hydraulic theatre bed, seven bedside cabinets, and four printers.

According to Hon. Formadi, the donation followed a formal request from the hospital authorities, as well as her own observations during visits to health facilities within the constituency.
She noted that healthcare infrastructure in the district has seen little improvement since 2016 and expressed concern about the challenges facing the sector. The MP pledged her commitment to completing abandoned CHPS compounds in the area to improve access to healthcare services for her constituents.
She also called on philanthropists, both within Ghana and in the diaspora, to support efforts aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery in the district and the region at large.
The District Health Director, Rita Ama Narlyn Wurapa, commended the MP for her timely intervention, stating that the equipment would significantly ease pressure on the hospital.

She explained that the facility serves not only residents of the Oti Region but also patients from neighbouring countries, placing a heavy demand on its limited resources.
Medical Director of the Worawora Government Hospital, Dr. Adukpo Godwin, also expressed appreciation for the gesture. He described the donation as a major boost to the hospital’s operations and a clear demonstration of the MP’s commitment to the wellbeing of her people.

Dr. Adukpo added that Hon. Formadi’s appeal for additional support from other stakeholders is a step in the right direction, emphasizing that improving healthcare in underserved communities requires collective effort.
Health workers in the district applauded the MP for her contribution and expressed hope that the gesture would inspire others to support the healthcare needs of Biakoye District and the entire Oti Region.
