CALLIGHANA, a local subsidiary of global agrochemical giant UPL, has donated items worth GH¢50, 000 to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to support the 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration.
The donation includes 10 mix blowers valued at GH¢30,000 and a cheque of GH¢20,000 to support activities at the national level.
Presenting the items, Mr. Peter Tetteh, Financial Controller at Callighana, said the company has been active in Ghana’s agricultural sector for over 20 years and has consistently supported the Ministry in celebrating hardworking farmers.
“Our support goes beyond the national level; we also donate to district-level events to ensure farmers everywhere feel appreciated,” he said.

He urged other agro-input dealers to contribute to Farmers’ Day, highlighting that agriculture remains the backbone of Ghana’s economy and honoring farmers will inspire them to produce more.
Receiving the donation, Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, thanked Callighana for their continuous support and praised their dedication to Ghanaian farmers.
He assured the company that their contribution will be acknowledged during the celebration and emphasized that such donations directly benefit the farmers who work tirelessly to feed the nation.
