VOLTA REGIONAL Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has met with key stakeholders to chart the way forward for the construction of the Aflao Market.

This follows a grant agreement signed between the Governments of Ghana and China to support the project.

The planned market is expected to boost trade, create jobs, and drive economic growth in Aflao and across the Volta Region.

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to the project, highlighting its potential to contribute meaningfully to local and national development.

The meeting also brought together H.E. Khadija Iddrisu, Acting Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; traditional leaders from the Aflao Traditional Area; and officials from the Chinese Embassy in Ghana.

All parties agreed to work together to ensure that the project is completed on time and delivers real benefits to the people.
