THE MEMBER of Parliament for South Tongu, Hon. Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, and the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Victoria Dzeklo, on Monday, October 6, 2025, jointly inspected the ongoing construction of the Mafi-Avedo to Dabala Junction road.
The inspection forms part of efforts by the two leaders to monitor progress, ensure quality work, and make sure the contractor sticks to the project timeline and specifications.
The road connects several key farming and trading communities including Mafi-Avedo, Mafi-Wenu, Kadeve, and Kpodzadzi, and serves as an important link between the Central and South Tongu Districts.

For years, residents have struggled with its poor condition, which has affected transportation of foodstuffs, trade, and general movement in the area.
During the visit, the MP and DCE engaged with local residents who expressed appreciation for the project and the regular follow-ups by their leaders. They noted that once completed, the road will greatly ease movement, boost economic activities, and enhance local development.
Currently, grading and other works are ongoing along various sections of the road. The project is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed on schedule.

The MP and DCE both reaffirmed their commitment to improving infrastructure and ensuring that the needs of the people are met through effective supervision and collaboration with relevant agencies.
