HON. PROF. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, Deputy Minister of Health, is representing Ghana at the 75th Session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for Africa, currently underway in Lusaka, Zambia.
The high-level forum brings together health ministers and delegates from 47 African countries to deliberate on key health priorities across the continent. Discussions are centered on universal health coverage, health security, emergency preparedness, maternal and child health, malaria, non-communicable diseases, and regional health manufacturing.
Prof. Ayensu-Danquah’s participation affirms Ghana’s commitment to advancing its health sector transformation agenda in line with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision.
With her extensive background spanning clinical practice, academia, and public health across Africa and the United States, she brings a wealth of expertise to the table.
She is the founder of Healing Hands Organization, which provides free medical and surgical services to underserved communities.
Prof. also serves on Ghana’s FDA Advisory Committee and is an Adjunct Professor of Surgery at the University of Utah’s Center for Global Surgery. She holds fellowships with several leading medical institutions, including the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the West African College of Surgeons.

As Deputy Minister, Prof. Ayensu-Danquah is expected to work closely with Minister of Health Kwabena Mintah Akandoh to strengthen Ghana’s health systems and delivering on bold healthcare reforms aimed at improving access, quality, and equity in health service delivery.
