THE MINISTER of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey has urged all Ghanaians to support the fight against human trafficking by speaking up whenever they see signs of it.

She made the call during the 2025 World Day Against Human Trafficking (Blue Day) held in Accra earlier this week.

Delivering a message on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, Dr. Lartey affirmed the government’s commitment to protecting human rights and ending all forms of exploitation, especially against children.

This year’s theme, “Leave No One Behind: Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges,” emphasizes the importance of unity in supporting victims and ensuring justice.

Ghana is also marking 20 years since the passage of the Human Trafficking Act in 2005. While progress has been made, human trafficking remains a major challenge in Ghana and across the world.

Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey reminded the public that Ghana continues to be a source, transit, and destination country for trafficking. She called for stronger, collective action to end the practice for good.
