THE FIGHT to recover looted state funds is intensifying as the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared Ernest Darko Akore, a former advisor at the Finance Ministry — wanted in connection with the ongoing investigation into the controversial SML revenue assurance contract.
Akore is believed to be a key figure in the alleged fraudulent scheme that saw millions of dollars lost to the state. The OSP’s move has reignited public calls for the Mahama administration to act decisively and ensure that “nation wreckers” under the previous Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government are held fully accountable.
Across the country, angry citizens are demanding not just arrests and prosecutions, but full recovery of stolen funds, with interest. Many insist they voted for President Mahama not for jobs or promises, but for justice and the exposure of high-level rot.
“This is only the beginning. One by one, they must pay. Ghana must be made whole again,” a civil society group posted online in reaction to the OSP’s action.
