ON JUNE 3, 2025, marking the 10th anniversary of the tragic flood and fire disaster at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Eric Adjei, Director of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), extended support to survivor Solomon Akugru.

Akugru, who endured severe injuries during the 2015 catastrophe, received a comprehensive assistance package from NEIP. This included tiling tools to facilitate his entrepreneurial endeavors, funding to secure stable housing, and a mobile phone to enhance communication and business operations.
Expressing his motivation, Adjei stated, “Solomon’s resilience is truly inspiring. At NEIP, we are committed to transforming such determination into tangible success.”

He also acknowledged the role of blogger Kobby Kyei in bringing Akugru’s story to light, emphasizing the importance of community engagement in identifying and supporting individuals in need.
This initiative aligns with NEIP’s mission to foster entrepreneurship and innovation across Ghana, providing resources and mentorship to empower citizens economically.
