AS PART of his visit to the Ashanti Region last weekend, Dr. Boamah Otokunor, Director of the Presidential Initiatives in Agriculture and Agribusiness (PIAA), toured the newly established Bodukwan Fruit Processing Factory at Subin Akrofuom.
Describing it as an “amazing investment,” Dr. Otokunor commended the Asantemanwura, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for spearheading the initiative, which is expected to produce a wide range of fruit products for both local and international markets.

The factory is poised to create thousands of jobs across the agro-value chain, providing significant employment opportunities for the teeming youth of the Ashanti Region and beyond.
Dr. Otokunor emphasized that this project aligns perfectly with the vision of former President John Dramani Mahama to upscale agro-industrialization in Ghana.

According to him, the plan is to provide varied support to investors and agro-producers to build a strong supply chain mechanism capable of consistently supplying raw materials to feed industries across the country.
“This factory is not just about fruit processing; it represents the future of agro-industrialization in Ghana,” Dr. Otokunor stated.

The Bodukwan Factory stands as a symbol of progress and collaboration between traditional leadership, government initiatives and private investment towards economic transformation.
