IN A LANDMARK moment for gender equality and local governance, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo has been overwhelmingly confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the South Tongu Municipal Assembly.

Her appointment follows a nomination by the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and marks a historic breakthrough in the district’s leadership.
During the confirmation process, Dzeklo – who also served as the Presiding Member – delivered powerful opening remarks, urging Assembly Members to vote not just with loyalty but with vision.
“If we are unable to confirm a Municipal Chief Executive, it would have a toll on the development of the Municipality,” she stated, encouraging unity and progress in alignment with the rest of the Volta Region, which has confirmed all presidential nominees.

Resounding Confirmation: The confirmation vote saw an impressive turnout, with 48 out of 57 valid votes cast in favor of Dzeklo – an overwhelming 83% endorsement.
