GHANA’S MOST CHEERISED PRESIDENT,  JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA.

Nat’l Tymes News Desk

A POLITICAL activist and former NDC National Organiser aspirant, Henry Osei Akoto, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for expanding recruitment into Ghana’s security services, describing the move as proof that the president understands the struggles of young people.

President Mahama recently increased the recruitment target from 20,000 to 40,000 over the next four years, following a high-level meeting with security chiefs and government ministers.

In a statement issued and sent to NationalTymes.com, he described the decision as timely and thoughtful, noting that it reflects the NDC government’s commitment to addressing unemployment among the youth. He said many young Ghanaians have been calling for more job opportunities and this intervention responds directly to their concerns.

According to him, the expanded recruitment will not only strengthen the country’s security services but also provide thousands of young people with stable jobs and renewed hope.

The initiative has been widely welcomed within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), with supporters describing it as a step in the right direction.

Observers believe the policy could play a key role in reducing unemployment while improving national security. The recruitment exercise is expected to be carried out in phases over the four-year period.
