VICE-PRESIDENT Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has called on Ghanaians to recommit to the values of unity, selflessness, and accountability as the nation marked the 44th anniversary of the 31st December Revolution at Ada.
Addressing party faithful, cadres, and residents, the Vice President reflected on Ghana’s journey of resilience and progress, urging citizens to draw lessons from the past to build a stronger future.
She said the spirit of the Revolution was not only about resistance, but about nation-building founded on fairness, transparency and concern for one another.


Prof. Opoku-Agyemang highlighted the enduring legacy of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings, describing his leadership as one grounded in sacrifice and service.
She noted that his commitment to accountability and prioritising national interest over personal gain remains a guiding principle for Ghana’s development. She encouraged Ghanaians to reflect on how their daily actions contribute to national growth and honour the sacrifices of past leaders.



The Vice President also underscored the importance of unity, stressing that despite political and social differences, Ghanaians share common aspirations for peace, prosperity, and progress.
She expressed optimism about the nation’s future and called for collective responsibility as the country enters a new year.

The event was attended by National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, Khimaty Rawlings, Zanetor Rawlings, other national executives, MMDCES, assembly members, and party cadres, who reaffirmed their commitment to the ideals of the Revolution and the continued advancement of Ghana.
