The Ehi Development Council (EDC) at Ketu North in the Volta Region has appealed for calm in the township after a violent incident that resulted in the death of one person and injuries to an unspecified number of security personnel.

In a statement issued on 5th November 2025, the Council, speaking on behalf of the Chiefs, Queen Mothers, and Elders, urged the immediate family and the youth of the community to remain peaceful following the unfortunate event, which was attributed to the actions of an individual.
The EDC highlighted that Ehi has largely remained peaceful and celebrated recent developments, including the sod-cutting ceremony for a new ultra-modern ICT/Learning Centre benefiting the township and its affiliated communities.

The Council called on the Ghana Police Service to swiftly arrest those responsible for the incident and ensure that law and order are maintained.
They also sympathized with police personnel injured during the melee and apologized on behalf of the community for any behaviour that may have tarnished Ehi’s reputation as a good host to security services.

The Council funally appealed to all residents to cooperate with the police to ensure a timely and thorough investigation, urging the community to work together to restore peace.
