She began the day by urging the Minister of Energy to address ongoing electricity issues in her constituency, then chaired a Gender Committee engagement with the African Centre for Parliamentary Affairs (ACEPA) and the Canadian Parliamentary Centre (CPC).
The meeting reviewed the progress of a CPC-supported programme that has boosted Ghana’s gender advocacy efforts, positioning the country among West Africa’s top performers in gender mainstreaming.
Key points from the meeting included:
– Strengthening collaboration between CPC/ACEPA and Ghana’s Parliament.
– Exploring new strategies to advance gender equality within national policies.
– Sharing Ghana’s experience as a model for other countries.
Present were key officials from Canada’s Global Affairs Bureau, the CPC, and the Canadian High Commission.

Hon. Hajia Zuwera’s leadership as Chair of the engagement reflects her continued commitment to inclusive governance and women’s empowerment. She also participated in chamber proceedings, fulfilling her duties under Standing Order 14.
The ongoing collaboration is expected to further Parliament’s efforts in promoting gender equity and social justice across Ghana.
