MEMBER of Parliament for Salaga South, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Ibrahimah, has come to the aid of a constituent, Mr. Baba Jamal Tahiru, with a donation of GH¢13,650 to cover the full cost of a life-saving surgical operation at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
Mr. Baba Jamal, a 47-year-old native of Daryl-Salam, a suburb of Salaga, is currently battling High Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Sinonasal Cavity, a rare form of cancer requiring urgent surgery.
The cheque was presented on behalf of the MP by a delegation led by Alhaji Adam Kawurbi, a member of the NDC Constituency Council of Elders, alongside the Salaga South NDC Constituency Chairman, Mr. Haruna Abdul Aziz. The presentation was made in Salaga to the patient’s family.
Alhaji Kawurbi noted that the MP was informed of the situation by Mr. Rashad Mahama and, in her usual compassionate spirit, promptly responded to the appeal.
“Hon. Zuwera Ibrahimah committed to covering the entire surgical bill to ensure Mr. Jamal receives the care he needs,” he said, while delivering the MP’s message of encouragement and best wishes for a successful surgery and recovery.

Receiving the donation, Khalifa Sheikh Mohammed Haafiz Ibrahim, head of the Mallam Baba family, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the MP. He praised the gesture as an act of true leadership and compassion, and prayed for Allah’s blessings upon her.
He also acknowledged the delegation, including Alhaji Kawurbi and Chairman Abdul Aziz, for their support in facilitating the donation.
Also present at the brief but emotional ceremony were constituency and branch executives, polling station representatives, and staff from the Office of the MP.
