THE MEMBER of Parliament for Pru East, Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, has honoured seven outstanding education workers in the district with exciting prizes, in a colourful ceremony held at the Yeji AstroTurf.
Dubbed Lord Boam’s Best Education Worker Awards 2025, the event is the first of its kind in the history of the district and was filled with joy, music, and community pride.
Teachers, students, traditional leaders, and government officials gathered to celebrate the contributions of hardworking educators. The Bono East Regional Education Director, Nana Kugbeadzor-Bakateyi II, represented the Deputy Minister of Education and the Bono East Regional Minister.
The event was chaired by Nana Siahene Mpre Kukuji, Gyeasehene of the Yeji Traditional Area, with other chiefs and queen mothers also in attendance.

The award winners received:
– 1 brand-new motorbike
– 1 modern fridge
– 4 smart TVs
– 2 bicycles

1. Mr. Mohammed Sina (Yeji SHS – Overall Best)
2. Madam Hidaya Zakari (Nurul Islam Primary School)
3. Mr. Charles Ampong (Yeji Presby Primary School)
4. Mr. Tsamenyi Wisdom (Accra Town D/A Primary)
5. Madam Kpodo Rita (Sawaaba D/A JHS)
6. Mr. Yussif Gyempeh (Pru East Education Office)
7. Mr. Kamal Mohammed (Pru East Education Office)
In his address, Hon. Boam reiterated his commitment to improving education in the district. He revealed that his scholarship policy has already supported 20 individuals, including teachers, to further their studies.

He also promised to work on improving school infrastructure, highlighting communities that urgently need attention.
“This is just the beginning,” he said. “Teachers play a critical role in shaping our nation’s future, and I will continue to support them.”
Awardees expressed their gratitude, with Mr. Boam, saying, “This gesture motivates us to do more.”
The event ended with renewed calls for stronger community support for education, cementing Hon. Boam’s dedication to teacher welfare and development in Pru East.
