THE YOUTH Employment Agency (YEA) has dismissed claims that about 300 of its staff have not been paid for the past 10 months, calling the reports misleading and factually inaccurate.
In a press statement signed by its Director of Corporate Affairs, Suadique Musah, the Agency clarified that the current CEO, Mr. Malik Basintale, only took office in February 2025 — making it impossible for him to have owed anyone for 10 months.
YEA explained that all staff captured on the official payroll have been paid regularly from February to September 2025. A staff audit was also carried out to ensure only legitimate workers remain on payroll, with those verified continuing to receive their salaries.

The Agency added that some contract staff whose agreements had expired before the current CEO took office were asked to reapply. Those renewed have since been reinstated and paid.
YEA reaffirmed its commitment to youth welfare and transparency.
