HON. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, Deputy Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, and MP for La Dade-Kotopon Constituency says the municipality is already operating as a 24-hour, with active businesses and services running day and night.
She made this remark over the weekend during the National Sanitation Day clean-up exercise, which saw active participation from some traditional leaders and people of the municipality.
According to Hon. Naa Odoley Sowah, La Dade-Kotopon is home to a wide range of businesses and institutions that operate around the clock, including hotels, restaurants, the Ghana Airport Company, and others.

She stressed the need for a consistently clean and healthy environment to support these businesses and welcome visitors at any hour.
She further noted that La Dade-Kotopon boasts many high-end residential areas stretching from Airport to Tse-Addo and beyond. These communities, she said, must maintain cleanliness and orderliness to reflect the municipality’s image and support its growing role in the 24-hour economy.
The MP added that anyone visiting the municipality, even late at night—can easily find food, drinks, and other services, which proves that the 24-hour economy is not just a vision but a reality in La.

Hon. Sowah also highlighted the link between good sanitation and increased revenue mobilization for the La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA). She called on all residents to take the monthly National Sanitation Day seriously to help keep their environment clean and boost development.
“A cleaner La means a better LaDMA for all of us,” she emphasized.
