PRESIDENT John Dramani Mahama has departed Accra for New York to attend the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80), which begins on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
He is scheduled to address the General Assembly on Thursday, September 25, in his role as the African Union’s Champion for Financial Institutions.
While in New York, President Mahama will also participate in high-level meetings with the UN Secretary-General, global leaders, and key stakeholders, including the President of the Rockefeller Foundation. He is also expected to meet the US-Africa Chamber of Commerce and ring the closing bell at NASDAQ.
First Lady Lordina Mahama is also part of the delegation. She will take part in events hosted by the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) and deliver a keynote at a World Vision International prayer event for children.

– Nana Oye Bampoe Addo (Technical Adviser to the First Lady)

– Kwabena Mintah Akandoh (Health Minister)
– Felix Kwakye Ofosu (Presidential Spokesperson)
– Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare (Trade Minister)
– Simon Madjie (CEO, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre)
President Mahama and his team are expected to return to Ghana on September 30, 2025.
