THE GOVERNMENT of Ghana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) to support the implementation of its 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme (24H+).
The MoU, signed at the Bank of Ghana in Accra, marks a strategic partnership aimed at providing financial support, technical assistance, and trade facilitation to help Ghana grow its economy, create jobs, and boost exports.

Presidential Advisor on the 24H+ Programme, Mr. Goosie Tanoh, said the deal would open new doors for Ghanaian businesses.
“This partnership means more opportunities for entrepreneurs, farmers, and young people who want to start or grow their businesses,” he noted.
The President of BADEA, H.E. Abdullah Almusaibeeh, praised Ghana’s economic vision and called the MoU the beginning of a stronger Arab-African relationship.

Under the agreement, BADEA will offer:
– Technical assistance to help implement the 24H+ programme
– Trade financing to support food security and balanced trade
– Affordable credit for small and medium-sized businesses
– Support for Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) to boost infrastructure.
The Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu, assured that the central bank is committed to supporting the programme by maintaining a stable financial environment.

The partnership is expected to speed up Ghana’s move toward a modern, export-driven, 24-hour economy, especially benefiting women and the youth through job creation.
BADEA is a development bank owned by Arab countries under the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), focused on supporting Africa’s economic growth and Arab-African cooperation.
