IN PARTNERSHIP with the East Gonja NHIS, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, Member of Parliament for Salaga-South, has launched a 3-day free NHIS registration and renewal exercise in Kpembe, Kafaba, Makango, and Kulaw.
Speaking at this year’s Damba Festival, the MP noted that “Damba isn’t just about music, dance, and tradition — it’s also about securing the health of our families.”
She added that the initiative goes beyond celebration — it’s about saving lives. By removing the cost barrier, the MP is ensuring that mothers, farmers, traders, students, and especially young people can access quality healthcare without worry.

The announcement has stirred excitement in the communities, with long queues expected as residents take advantage of the opportunity to register or renew their NHIS cards.

As the rhythms of Damba fill the air in Salaga-South, the message is clear: good health is a celebration in itself. Thanks to this initiative, thousands will not only enjoy the festival but also move forward with peace of mind, knowing healthcare is now within reach.
Wishing all a joyful and peaceful Damba Festival in advance.
