INFORMATION picked up by Nationaltymes.com suggests that barring any last-minute changes, Dr. Sulemana Iddrisu, the Principal of the Tamale College of Education (TACE), may soon announce his intention to contest the Tamale Central NDC primaries ahead of the upcoming by-election.
Sources indicate that several influential figures and delegates within the Tamale Central Constituency are backing Dr. Iddrisu to step into the race.
Many see him as the ideal candidate to replace the late Member of Parliament for the area, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, who tragically passed away in a recent helicopter crash alongside seven other officials.
According to insiders close to his camp, while Dr. Sulemana Iddrisu has not officially declared his candidacy, there is strong belief that he is preparing to enter the race. “Dr. Sule is always ready to serve, and we believe his contesting is almost inevitable now,” a close source hinted.
The 57-year-old educationist is also the brother of Tamale South MP and current Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu.

If he decides to run, his entry could significantly shape the race as the NDC prepares to elect a new parliamentary candidate for the crucial by-election.
