THE GHANA Free Zones Authority (GFZA), led by its Deputy CEO in charge of Finance and Administration, Mr. Musah Sibiri Hamidu, has paid a working visit to HPW Fresh and Dry Ltd., a fruit processing company located in Adeiso in the Eastern Region, to commemorate the company’s 15th anniversary as a Free Zones Enterprise.
The visit formed part of GFZA’s continued engagement with businesses under the Free Zones scheme, aimed at strengthening partnerships and acknowledging enterprise contributions to Ghana’s export economy.

HPW’s Managing Director, Mr. James Obeng, welcomed the GFZA delegation and led a presentation on the company’s operations, highlighting its state-of-the-art production process and challenges.
Mr. Obeng revealed that the company is currently operating at just 50% capacity, citing a shortage of consistent fruit supply, particularly mangoes, as a major constraint to full-scale production.

The GFZA delegation toured HPW’s impressive facility, which processes and exports dried fruits to international markets.
Mr. Hamidu lauded the company for its advanced use of technology, sustainable sourcing from farmers across West Africa, and its strong export-oriented model that fits seamlessly within the Free Zones framework.

“HPW is a shining example of what the Free Zones program is designed to achieve: promoting value addition, creating jobs, and boosting exports,” Mr. Hamidu stated. “We commend your innovation and contribution to Ghana’s economy.”
To mark the occasion, the GFZA team presented a commemorative plaque and souvenirs to HPW in appreciation of its achievements. The delegation also included Mrs. Patience Agbleze Acorlor, Director of Corporate Affairs, PR and Aftercare, and other GFZA officials.

The visit was described as both insightful and memorable, underscoring GFZA’s commitment to supporting enterprises under its mandate.
