ATTORNEY GENERAL and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, has boldly challenged the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to bring on any attempts to frustrate the government’s anti-corruption drive, warning that his office is fully prepared to prosecute cases of grand theft and misappropriation under the previous administration.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra to outline progress under the anti-corruption campaign, Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), Dr. Ayine accused the NPP of allegedly plotting to obstruct criminal prosecutions of its former appointees and party members who are also involved in criminality.

“Our intelligence suggests they’re planning to make the country ungovernable if we dare pursue the stolen funds,” he said. “But we won’t go to court unprepared. Let them come with their tactics we’ll meet them with the law.”
Dr. Ayine stated that funds allegedly looted during the Nana Akufo-Addo/Dr. Bawumia administration were colossal enough to build the Accra-Kumasi expressway, hundreds of schools, CHPS compounds, and roads that would create thousands of jobs.

He added that the previous government not only mismanaged the economy but left Ghanaians with excruciating hardship, stressing that justice and recovery remain top priorities for the current administration.
