

DR. MARY Awusi, CEO of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), visited two Free Zone Enterprises—Eco-Trade Limited and Wahu Mobility Limited—as part of efforts to deepen engagement with licensed enterprises and understand their operations and challenges.
At Eco-Trade, a company specializing in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, Managing Director Mr. Wissam Raad highlighted the firm’s strategy of utilizing Ghana as a transit hub for exporting products to other African markets.

Dr. Awusi’s visit to Wahu Mobility Limited, an electric bicycle assembly facility, included discussions with Chief Financial Officer Ms. Abena Baidoo and the management team. Ms. Baidoo outlined Wahu Mobility’s mission to provide comprehensive connectivity solutions and foster the development of mobility entrepreneurs.
Commending both enterprises for their contributions to Ghana’s economy, Dr. Awusi reiterated GFZA’s commitment to supporting their expansion efforts.


She lauded Wahu Mobility for being a women-led company with an innovative business model, encouraging strict adherence to the Authority’s regulations.
The visit stresses GFZA’s dedication to creating a responsive and business-friendly environment that empowers Free Zone Enterprises to thrive, aligning with Ghana’s export-led industrialization agenda.

Dr. Awusi was accompanied by GFZA officials, including Deputy CEO (Operations) Mr. Lateef Apau Wiredu, Director of Corporate Affairs & PR Mrs. Patience Agbleze Acorlor, Director of Administration Hajia Hanatu Abubakar-Bimi, and Head of Compliance Mr. Michael Larbi.
