
THE REIGNING Miss Tourism Ghana, Portia Akua Mensah, accompanied by her team, paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, to congratulate her on her recent appointment, and express their commitment to supporting national tourism initiatives.
During the visit at the Ministry’s office, Hon. Gomashie, a seasoned creative arts professional and former producer of the acclaimed television programme “By the Fireside”, shared insights from her early career.
She stressed on the importance of preparation and seizing opportunities, stating that, “In life, you must always prepare for the opportunities that come your way. If you are not ready, you may miss them.”

Miss Mensah, who is set to represent Ghana at the upcoming Miss Tourism Global pageant in Malaysia, expressed enthusiasm about promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage on the global stage.
She reaffirmed the team’s dedication to supporting government initiatives aimed at revitalizing the tourism sector, particularly the “Black Star Experience Project”, which seeks to highlight Ghana’s diverse cultural and tourism assets.
The Minister lauded their passion and urged them to remain diligent in championing the nation’s tourism potential. She highlighted the Black Star Experience as a framework to celebrate Ghana’s diverse cultural identity, encouraging contributions from communities across all regions.
Mr. Devine Kwame Owusu Ansah, Director of Culture and Creative Arts, also pledged the sector’s support through collaboration to enhance tourism, culture, and creative arts.
The visit concluded with a shared optimism for stronger partnerships aimed at positioning Ghana as a leading tourism destination.
