IN A SPIRITED address aimed at revitalizing the South Tongu Municipal Assembly, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), today engaged management and staff in a forward-thinking meeting focused on unity, innovation and purposeful governance.

The MCE outlined a bold vision for the Assembly’s future, calling on all personnel to embrace a renewed sense of collective responsibility and to work collaboratively toward shared developmental goals.

“Every voice, every role matters,” Hon. Dzeklo emphasized, urging staff to actively contribute their skills and perspectives regardless of rank or background. Her message was clear: the path to progress lies in inclusive participation and shared ownership of the Assembly’s mission.

Highlighting the need for collaborative governance, the MCE reaffirmed her commitment to partnership-building across departments and with external stakeholders. “Open communication and mutual respect are the engines of development,” she said.

She also challenged the team to adopt a forward-looking mindset, leaving behind past setbacks to embrace innovative strategies that align with both current needs and future aspirations.

Taking aim at the all-too-common “no money syndrome,” Hon. Dzeklo called for greater efficiency and resourcefulness. “We must stop using financial limitations as an excuse. Let’s focus on creativity, accountability and getting the most out of what we have,” she stressed.

To catalyze meaningful change, the MCE encouraged staff to submit practical, transformative ideas that could streamline operations and position the Assembly as a model of excellence.

In her closing remarks, she expressed confidence in the Assembly’s ability to meet the moment: “Together, we hold the power to redefine our municipality’s trajectory. Let us harness our collective strengths, innovate fearlessly and build an Assembly that truly serves as a beacon of progress.”

The meeting ended on a high note, with staff and management pledging to uphold the MCE’s principles and work collectively toward a stronger, more dynamic South Tongu.
